Ninkasi Brewing serves as a great story of local entrepreneurship building from the brew passion of it's two founders into what is now a staple in the Eugene community and recognized as the 36th largest brewery in America. The Ninkasi facilities have found their home in the eclectic Whitaker district in Eugene, Oregon where the two entities share an affinity for art and building a sense of community. Ninkasi bottles are distinguished by their unique artwork and the brewing facilities stand out with their custom Tricerahop green and black exteriors with custom metal gates. We are excited to tour these unique buildings and learn from facilities manager Lowell regarding his experiences overseeing the maintenance and operations for this high output organization.
The Thursday, March 16th meeting for Local Facilities Manager's Connection (LFMC) will be a tale of two firsts:
1) The 1st of the firsts will be that this meeting will be our first social of the new year, this is a social meeting and members are encouraged to bring the spouse and/or significant other so that our families who support our efforts in facilities, maintenance and risk management can get to know each other and build connection within our community of professionals as well. Members and guests will have two complimentary drinks from Ninkasi thanks to our wonderful meeting sponsor Graham Landscape & Design.
2) The 2nd of the firsts will be that this meeting will be our first evening meeting, so this is an opportunity for all of those facilities professionals who have been eager to attend but unable due to the morning time slot can join us for this event. This will serve as a trial to help determine whether we need to experiment more with alternative meeting times to meet the needs of our peers. While we are having this event at a brewery, the purpose isn't primarily for drinking, it just so happens this is a great local story of entrepreneurship rising out of our community as well as a very unique facility which we look forward to discussing with Lowell.
This event is for LFMC members/participants and a guest, please RSVP so that we know how many to plan for. Ninkasi has an assortment of drinks onsite, there is a food truck onsite as well as several other food options nearby. Let's have some fun and celebrate the year we have had. The social will be outdoor with tents and heaters, bring a jacket as Oregon weather is unpredictable.
