We had a fun tour and social at Ninkasi Brewing for our March monthly meeting. Lowell was a gracious host and provided us with an in depth peek behind the operations that produce the craft beer from the heart of the Whitaker District in Eugene, Oregon. There are a lot of hands and moving parts that go into making each bottle of Ninkasi and it was an education to discuss Lowell's part in keeping things flowing - did we just make a facilities joke?! The brewery has a beer bridge between the two main structures and we all concluded that our facilities should each have this feature. This was our first evening event of 2017, so it was fun to meet each other's spouses and see some faces that haven't been able to attended morning meetings. Graham Landscape & Design was our sponsor for the event, they provided us with drinks and limited edition mugs. Please thank them for supporting us, they would love the opportunity to sit down with any organization to discuss how they can provide commercial landscaping, irrigation and maintenance services.
Member's Only Discussions:
As you know LFMC membership is FREE to facilities, maintenance and risk professionals, we have options now through the donation link that you or your organization can opt to support LFMC at a price of your choosing and our costs are offset by our partner sponsors (this year BELFOR, Eugene Lock & Safe, CED & Graham). If you would like to be included in our member's only email list and join the ongoing discussion please register on the LFMC CONTACT page. We have had some internal discussions on BOC and FMP certifications within the member's group. If you know of a facilities professional who would benefit from or be a value to our group, please share the information and if you know sponsors that would add value to our group please direct them to the website as well.
Jon Speaking At Lane Rental Owner's Association:
LFMC Director Jon Isaacson will be presenting to the Lane Rental Owner's Association on Avoiding Claim Pitfalls for water and fire related damages. This class is open to the public but requires registration and a small fee. Some members have expressed a desire to learn more about the insurance process and claims prevention, this may be a good opportunity for you. See more on this HERE.
April will be our first lunch meeting of 2017. We will plan to meet at the BELFOR office from 1130am - 1pm and will have a special guest, Mark Dahl of the Eugene/Springfield fire marshal's department to assist us in a conversation about fire and life safety. Please let us know if you have any specific questions that you would like to have Mark address in his discussion with our group. Lunch will be hosted, BELFOR currently will be sponsoring this but please let us know if there is another partner that may be interested in sponsoring the meeting.
Our May meeting will be hosted by Matt with Lane County, details to be determined. Please reach out if you would be willing to host a meeting, have a topic idea and/or have a vendor who would bring value to the group as a contributor and sponsor.
