As many of you know, Local Facilities Manager's Connection (LFMC) was formalized in 2015 as a networking and education group that was member supported and discussion based. After several attempts to work within existing organizations Rex Fox and Jon Isaacson, along with the input and efforts of many others, collaborated to start a group that would meet the need of local professionals.
The core principles of LFMC have always centered around:
1) Create value
2) Discussion based peer interaction
3) Keep operating costs low by being member supported
In short, rather than membership to a national organization to meet and listen to a speaker, we have found value in meeting for free at local facilities and discussing relevant topics on a monthly basis. If you haven't already, you can read more about the origins and philosophy behind our group as covered in Facility Executive Magazine.
We have toured many of the renowned facilities throughout Eugene and Springfield, learning from each other and expanding our group of local professionals. LFMC has grown from a few key members to a size able network of facilities professionals in various industries. We have come so far in our two short years because of the efforts of those who have invested in the group and we want to keep that momentum in the coming years. Our prior director, Jon Isaacson, has moved out of the area due to the next steps in his career. Jon continues to stay connected with the LFMC group through managing the website, social media and content as well as consulting but will no longer be engaged in the day to day operations.
LFMC is excited to announce that Stephanie Matthews, who is a longtime member and currently works with Northwest Community Credit Union, will be stepping up as our new LFMC Director. Stephanie will be the primary point of contact for LFMC business as she helps to facilitate monthly meetings. In additon to Stephanie taking on this role, Erik Westerholm of the Northwest Water and Energy Education Institute will be assisting our group as the Outreach Coordinator to help us continue to grow our member and professional base. Both Stephanie and Erik can be contacted through the LFMC Contact page or directly by email email@example.com. We look forward to what the coming years will bring as we continue to connect, collaborate and conquer together. Thank you all for your investment of time and commitment to our local network, together we will keep this momentum and build upon our accomplishments.
