We attended the August 10th, 2016 – Lane Preparedness Coalition Business Continuity Workshop hosted at EWEB. Recap of meeting by LFMC coming soon.
Lane Preparedness Coalition has an opportunity to join, volunteer and input on their - ECONOMY AND RECOVERY FINANCE PROJECT TEAM - Sobering statistics from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration indicate that 40% of businesses affected by a major disaster never reopen. 25% of businesses will fail within one year and 90% will fail after two years. The goal of the economy and recovery finance project team is to publish a plan to develop infrastructure to support business continuity for Lane County businesses after a disaster. The plan will be released to the public at the LPC Business Continuity Workshop August 9, 2017. Learn more about the project scope timeline.
We met with representatives from Chemeketa Community College who are interested in hosting an upcoming meeting – 1) Keep your eye open for more details regarding meeting in the Salem area and 2) please let us know if you have facilities, maintenance and/or risk management contacts in the Salem area who may be interested in attending a Salem meeting.
Let us know if you would like to advertise with the website or have industry vendors who would be interested in advertising opportunities.
Our group of local facilities managers includes those who's responsibilities carry over into risk management and insurance claims, as well as those who have dedicated positions with managing these programs. We have been asked by our membership and community partners to inquire whether there is enough interest to set up an educational and networking meeting to discuss the claims process. If any of the following apply to you please let respond back with your interest and we will keep you updated on the progress of setting up a local meeting addressing claims management:
